I’m Julie Smith and I trained with, and am a member of, the Fellowship of Independent Celebrants. I adhere to their code of ethics, am fully insured and have enhanced DBS clearance. I am committed to inclusivity and look forward to working with you regardless of your background or who you are.

My Threads of Life celebrancy practice is built upon a career in health care and education. Here, I developed the ability to write and deliver presentations, to plan and organize events, experience in speaking to groups of people, and to communicate with people from all walks of life during times of both joy and sadness.

These attributes are essential to the role of an Independent Celebrant, and arranging and delivering ceremonies with compassion and care is central to everything that I do.

Whether your ceremony is to mark a new beginning, a joining together or an ending, it will be a privilege to work with you to ensure that your ceremony is everything that you wish it to be, whether for yourself or for someone close to you.

An initial, free, and no obligation, meeting allows us to explore the possibilities for your ceremony together – either in person, online or by phone, depending upon your individual circumstances. After this meeting, should you choose to go ahead, you will receive an outline of your ceremony. There will be the opportunity for further discussion, and you will then receive a final plan and script. Everyone who chooses me as their celebrant will receive a commemorative copy of their ceremony following the event, together with any additional finishing touches they have chosen.
